  CMM® Operational Framework Course
 
SECC organized a training course entitled CMM® Operational Framework.This course was held on 26 Dec., 2001. It was attended by 96 IT professionals from 40 software companies. Attending this course was considered as a prerequisite for the other software process Improvement Training Courses.

Topics covered
 
  • This module is to provide guidance for designing, analyzing and reviewing software processes so that they can be consistent with the CMM. It helps the Egyptian software organizations to install defined processes into software engineering practices that are consistent with the CMM. The module describes a good process content, and the information criteria for defining software processes. It declare the difference between processes, procedures and work instructions. Tried and valid techniques are introduced.

  • The module assists in documenting and defining processes by providing an excellent start for organizations embarking on process definition effort.

  • It provides participants with hands on experience designing, documenting and evaluating processes. Feedback mechanisms and measurements are introduced as a vehicle to process improvement. Also, it covers the concepts and techniques for procedure writing, and offers practical advice for overcoming the common mistakes companies usually make in managing procedures for their business. It gives Practice in performing detailed task analysis and writing step-by-step instructions and examples to differentiate between activities to be written in details and others.
