SECC organized a one day event in collaboration with Motorola on Software Process Improvement SPI in Egypt: Status and Perspectives.
The event was held in the Smart Village on April 29th, 2004 and was attended by very well selected elite from a large number of software companies and universities.
As SECC enters its third year of existence, it was essential to critically reflect upon the lessons already learnt, to build SECC strengths and identify weaknesses that must be overcome through joint effort.
The event started with a foreword by Dr. Gamal M. Ali, SECC Director, followed by a keynote speech by Dr. Terrence Heng, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Software Group, Motorola.
A presentation on "Software Engineering Competence Center in three years" was introduced by Dr. Ashraf Salem, Manager of Standards Unit, SECC, followed by "Motorola Participation in the SECC" presented by Mr. Roger G. Fordham, Director Performance Excellence and Dr. John F. Pellegrin, Manager Process & Quality Consulting, Global Software Group, Motorola.
A session was dedicated to present Industry Experience in Software Process Improvement .
It was handled by seven large software companies started their way in applying software process improvement in their organizations. They are listed as follows:
