Scope of work
 
  • In line with SECC practices of offering services to the IT community in Egypt to leverage their performance, SECC will provide in collaboration with an external ITIL service provider an ITIL Program. The program aims at building the ITIL capabilities to a number of candidate companies by adopting ITIL V3.0 best practices.

  • The program duration is one year and targets 5 companies.

About ITIL
 
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library "ITIL" is a collection of best practices in IT Service Management (ITSM), and contains a comprehensive technical documentation for the planning, provisioning of quality and supporting of IT services, It comprises a series of ITIL books and is intended to assist organizations in developing a quality framework for their IT services. By implementing ITIL, organizations can standardize IT services and processes, increase quality of service, improve application performance and reduce operational costs while adhering to corporate and legislative compliance requirements.

ITIL Program Phases
 
  • Phase 1: Training and Official Exams:

    1. During May 2009, a 3-day ITIL Foundation Training will be delivered to four participants from each of the five selected companies. An official exam will be held.

    2. One person from each company, of those who successfully pass the Official Exam of the ITIL Foundation Training, will be selected to continue with the second level of ITIL trainings (i.e. trainings c & d)

    3. ITIL Intermediate Capability Modules Training consists of 4 courses, 5 days each and will be held during June 2009 – October 2009. An exam will be held at the end of each training.

    4. Management Training conducted on 5 days during January 2010 to enable the selected person to become an ITIL expert.

  • Phase 2: Baseline assessment and Gap analysis

  • Phase 3: Consultation visits:

    • The visits will be based on the plan delivered after performing the Gap analysis, to adopt ITIL best practices by process area development and service management process piloting and institutionalization.

Selected Company Responsibilities
 
  • Candidate company will be responsible for the following activities:

    1. Ensures its availability and required resources throughout the duration of ITIL implementation (around 6 months).

    2. Appoints a Coordinator to supervise and co-ordinate the workflow of the assignment with SECC; provides all requested and needed information and documents concerning the company’s business operations; provides venue for the meetings and discussions, availability stake holders for the interviews.

    3. ITIL team involved should dedicate an effort for the ITIL adoption throughout the project, weighting from 8 to 10 hours per day depending on company work load.

Cost Sharing
 
  • Each company will pay a contribution of Twenty Thousand Egyptian Pounds (EGP 20,000) on two installments, as a contribution of the total services cost.

    This contribution is non refundable.

    1. First Installment: An amount of Ten Thousand Egyptian Pounds (EGP 10,000), is to be paid upon signing the contract as a contribution for the following activities:
      • ITIL Foundation Training and Exam for 4 attendees
      • ITIL Intermediate Training Courses and exam
      • ITIL Management Training course and exam
      • Baseline assessment and Gap analysis

    2. Second Installment: An amount of Ten Thousand Egyptian Pounds (EGP 10,000) is to be paid after finishing Baseline assessment and gap analysis for the following activity:
      • Consultation Visits
